History

On July 5, 1952, Allen County War Memorial Hospital opened in Scottsville, Ky. The hospital featured 31 beds (9 private and 11 double rooms) and 12 bassinets. In 1993, the hospital was purchased by Commonwealth Health Corporation (CHC) and was renamed The Medical Center at Scottsville. With the support of CHC, The Medical Center at Scottsville began immediate plans for expansion and new services.

The plan involved the purchase of Hillview Manor and construction of a new medical complex on a 12-acre site on Burnley Road. The land was donated by Cal Turner, Sr. as part of a 1972 Turner Family Trust, which resulted in the opening of Cal Turner Extended Care Pavilion.

The Medical Center at Scottsville and Cal Turner Extended Care Pavilion opened on February 25, 1996. Since that time, The Medical Center at Scottsville has taken the steps to ensure the residents of Scottsville and Allen County have access to top quality care.
